Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer is a Cat ‘A’ institution of the Indian Army, primarily catering to the wards of PBOR of Indian Armed Forces. The School has a distinguished history of over 86 years with several of our alumni occupying high positions in the Armed Forces as well as in public and private sectors, doing yeoman service to the motherland. School is a nursery to prepare future cadets for Armed Forces.
Rashtriya Military Schools are English medium residential Public Schools run by the Ministry of Defence to impart quality education to wards of defence personnel and civilians from Classes VI to XII. These Schools are the founding members of the Indian Public School's Conference (IPSC). Established in the year 1925, these Schools are among the oldest Public Schools in India. There are five Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) located at Chail in Shimla Hills of Himachal Pradesh, Ajmer and Dholpur in Rajasthan, Belgaum and Bangalore in Karnataka. Cadets are admitted into Class VI & IX through a Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted under the aegis of the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army).
Platinum Jubilee Celebrations (17th and 18th Nov 2005). The President of India H E APJ Abdul Kalam was the worthy Chief Guest during the Platinum Jubilee accompanied by his 20 distinguished guests, state ministers and the distinguished authorities arrived in a motorcade at the school auditorium which had been the hub of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at 1500 hrs on 17 Nov 2005. The President was received by the Principal Lt Col Y H V S Prasad, ADGAE Maj Gen J S Ghumman and Brig V M Kalia, Cdr 12 Arty Bde.
Inspiring word of wisdoms by Dr Kalam to the cadets were :
"Courage to defend the nation, courage to innovate, courage to invent and courage to overcome sufferings and to succeed; are indeed the traits that led to the growth of human civilization. I, as a citizen of India, will work with courage and knowledge to transform my nation into a prosperous, happy and safe India."
